Stash additions: March

Clearly Besotted March stashMarch was an exceptional month for crafty acquisitions; I don’t normally buy anywhere near this amount of stuff. I blame a combination of it being my birthday month (“of course I can get that, it’s my birthday soon”) and doing The Daily Marker 30 day Colouring Challenge which made me realise that I don’t have that many stamp sets that can be coloured.

It all started with an order from Clearly Besotted. It’s been a while since I ordered from them, but there were a couple of must-haves in their new release and that was a good excuse to pick up some bits from my wishlist at the same time.

Then there are the emails that make my wallet cringe; the ones from Make the Day Special telling me that a product I want is back in stock – I got several of these this month… And then, well, you can’t just buy one thing can you so my haul this month included:

And then I found Meljen’s Designs — unfortunately just as she’s about to shut her digi shop and move back to Etsy — I took the opportunity to get her cute little sign mouse and little puzzle mouse.

I also grabbed a couple of digi stamps from Gerda Steiner — I just couldn’t resist the sheep, bunny & chick combo and I also got the birthday bear.

The colouring challenge is definitely costing me money… because of it I finally joined Instagram and was exposed to the wide variety of products that people are using for their crafting and colouring and the different ways they’re using them. I had come across Create A Smile before, but didn’t have any of their products. I now have the Botanical Love and Hypnotize stamps.

I’ve been wanting to have a play with alcohol inks for a while and my birthday at the end of the month seemed like a good excuse to pick a few up. I made a remarkably restrained selection of colours and ordered them from Craft Obsessions. A quick order from The Glitter Pot netted me the basic applicators and a couple of other mixatives and, in a classic case of “is there anything else I ‘need’?”, I also got the Hero Arts Flower Garden stamps and Tattoo Flowers from Lindsay Mason Designs.

My birthday also brought me the new Big Shot Plus machine and a tin of 40 Supracolor Soft water-soluble colour pencils. But at least I didn’t have to pay for those.

April will be significantly less acquisitive.
