Something new to do

So I needed a new hobby, something that didn’t involve staring at a computer screen. I used to crochet amigurumi, but my hands get too tired too quickly for that to occupy much of my time now. Somewhere along the line I discovered zentangle, which is entertaining, but, again, after a while my hands start to complain about the detailed doodling.

To be honest, I’m really not sure exactly how I got from there to having drawers full of dies, stamps, ink pads, mists, embossing powders, embellishments, markers and a whole host of other stuff.

And, while the actual crafting takes place away from the computer, it still results in vast amounts of time watching technique videos on YouTube, reading blogs, browsing online craft shops, and Googling in an, often futile, attempt to try to find UK suppliers of certain brands of products.

I’ve made a few cards already, playing around with different supplies and techniques, and my plan is to document them so that I have a record of what I’ve made and how I made them. After all, by their very nature, cards are not things that are kept by their creators.

It’s a fun hobby, and people seem to like the results. Which is nice.
